With the new black bezel that has been posted online, another iPhone concept has also arisen. this time from Pablo Nunez. I really like the design but no too sute about the Apple logo at the bottom. The black bezel only covers about 5/6ths of the phone and the earpiece is higher and wider just as depicted in the rumored bezel leak. Do you think this is whatthe new iPhone will look like?

An artist named Jorge Colombo created this week’s cover for The New Yorker with Brushes. NY Times reported this news: Mr. Colombo drew the June 1 cover scene, of a late-night gathering around a 42nd Street hot dog stand, entirely with the iPhone application Brushes. Because of the smears and washes of color required by the inexact medium, it comes off as dreamy, not sharp and technological.
Mr. Colombo told NYTimes -“The best feature of it is that it doesn’t feel like something that was done digitally; quite the opposite,” said Françoise Mouly, the art editor for The New Yorker. “All too often the technology is directed in only one direction, which is to make things more tight, and this, what he did very well, is use this technology for something that is free flowing, and I think that’s what makes it so poetic and magical.”
Great going Brushes. Brushes can be picked for $4.99 from this App Store link.

The iPhone and iPod Touch are the best mobile devices and they let you do almost anything that a full computer can do. You can even type up an entire word document, but the only problem is that the keys on the keyboard are so small. iTypeFastr solves this problem.
iTypeFastr is a new idea in iPhone technology. The iTypeFastr team studied reports about what letters weremost typed in worldwide twitter accounts. They took this raw data and came up with the iTypeFastr keyboard. This keyboard makes the more used letters in the alphabet bigger while it leaves less used letters the same size. You don’t have to worry about the less used keys because they are still the original size if not a little larger.
Once installed it changes the default keyboard to the new iTypeFastr design. This will make typing on your iPhone a breeze. You will find yourself using your iPhone much easier than before. Once you have downloaded it from Cydia you will have a free 14 day trial period. Once that expires you will need to purchase the full serial code that cost a mere $3.99.

Aoyama Gakuin University in Japan has started providing Apple iPhone 3Gs to all 550 staff and students, using the GPS function to determine whether they are in school or not. The university will initiate full operation of the system in the autumn. The school also has plans to expand their use to setting simple tests and questionnaires, submitting homework and reviewing class video materials.
And what more, the university is to pay the basic charges itself, ensuring no extra financial burdens will fall on students. Awesome! Isnt it?
Think that could happen here in South Africa? ….. nnnaahhhhhhhh

I finally decided to brave it out and open up my iPhone this evening. Let me tell you, it’s a daunting experience – one wrong move and its history. Anyways, the speaker holes were clogged with dust and dirt and not to mention the plug where the recharger goes. I know I didnt HAVE TO open it up, a mere brush with a toothbrush or a good blow with compressed air would have done the trick buuuuttttt I wanted to do the camera focus experiment.
What happens here is that, you scrape away the glue on the camera which then allows you to actually turn / focus the camera for close-up shots. It worked like a bomb! Checkout the photo of the sim card to see what I mean. I managed to adjust the camera back to a focus that I am happy with. So I can take better close-up photos now. yippeee
I will be posting the guide on how to do this soon. Let me know what you think.

Apple may be on the verge of allowing movie and TV show downloads directly from an iPhone or iPod touch, according to a report by Kwame Jones.
This revelation, (again at least to me) comes by way of an advertisement in the new ad supported version of the app Twitterfon released on 5/15/09. Three ads, stumbled upon by a geeky friend of mine who wishes to remain anonymous for fear of the powerful arms of the Apple legal department, scrolling across the top of the app were for ‘iTunes Movies’, ‘iTunes TV’ and ‘iTunes Movie Rentals’.
Jones notes that while the titles of soon to be available movies and TV shows were listed, and directories by genre are active — the links to the actual movies turned up a message of “The item you’ve requested is not available.”
Upon even closer examination Jones noticed that pages in question are under construction as we speak. Notice, the navigation bar at the top of the page at 12:28 PM ET. That navigation bar wasn’t present at 10:55 AM ET and 12:07 ET.
It seems as though Apple may be developing the feature right at this moment.

According to Yair Reiner, an analyst at Oppenheimer, Apple may be looking to offer multiple models of iPhone differentiated by software instead of hardware. He claims to have met with several Apple executives who allegedly said: “[The] iPhone is still in its early days and could gain share by: providing more functionality, lowering prices, growing geographically, or segmenting the market with different models.”
Further more, the officials said that the segmentation would be offering different models of iPhone, and that: “Segmentation would focus on software.”
This rout would supposedly make better business sense than offering iPhones with different hardware in that they wouldn’t have the manufacturing cost increase of producing an iPhone with different parts.

Well I’m not in the music industry but for those who are or planning to be, all that is needed are 4 Vodacom contracts and some music talent. After watching this video you will see that the need for drums, guitars, piano’s etc are a thing of the past – WHERES MY IPHONE?. Believe me, these 3 apps can take you places – MUSIC AWARDS maybe?. ‘PocketGuitar‘ can turn your iPhone or iPod touch into a virtual guitar. You can press and strum strings, just like a real guitar. ‘Band‘ is a collection of virtual instruments that lets you create music yourself from scratch. And with ‘Bassist‘ you can play bass guitar straight from your iPhon. Check this video and you will buy my point.

This one going to rock the iPhone gaming world. Everyone is waiting for the new SIM3 by EA games. After the just released Need For Speed Underworld, comes Sim3. There’s something of a Matrix theme running through the trailer, which hints at the game’s open world approach to creating a unique Sim, fiddling with their personality and setting them loose on the virtual world to see how they fit in (or, as is likely to be the case, don’t fit in).
Previously Sim’s personalities were defined by how well you managed their lives, but in The Sims 3 it appears you can assign your alter-ego all kinds of mental traits. Create an egotistical, neurotic or flirty character, and they begin to develop from there.
We’ll keep you posted and hopefully find a download link soon.

Those of us who use a Mac with their iPhone probably grab photos using iPhoto. It’s an obvious choice since your Mac already comes with it. However, if you have a lot of photos, you may not necessarily want to fire up iPhoto to import one or two pictures from your iPhone.
Instead of iPhoto, try using Image Capture. It’s light-weight, straight forward, and it’s included on your Mac. Best of all, you can simply drag a photo out of Image Capture right onto your desktop. You can even delete photos on your iPhone. Now that’s handy!
