Latest News, Rumours iPhone 3G S
Smartphones Overheating
Some iPhone 3G S smartphones are overheating to the point of discoloration, (see picture below) which may be attributed to the new longer-lasting battery.

Everyone knows the Apple iPhone 3G S is hot, but some are finding it unbearably so. Some white iPhones are reportedly overheating to the point of causing pink or brown discoloration on the back of the device.
The French tech first reported the story on June 26, including images of lightly discolored phones, and some people have experienced a similar problem, that you couldn’t even put it against the cheek
In one case, the person was using it while it was charging.
If that turns out to be true, If you have a problem in the design of a series of batteries, it’s probably going to be spread to tens of thousands, if not hundreds of thousands, and maybe more.”
Just in case heating problems should arise due to, say, summer, Apple issued a common-sense-encouraging announcement on June 25, stating that iPhone 3G and 3G S should be kept in temperatures between 32 and 95 degrees F.
Apple has warned that, should the device exceed normal temperatures, the device may stop charging, the display may dim, there will be a weak cellular signal and a “Temperature” warning screen will appear on the device.
What can trigger the Temperature warning? Leaving the device in a car on a hot day and leaving it in direct sunlight for extended amounts of time, Apple states in the notice.
But then it also adds to the list, “Using certain applications in hot conditions or direct sunlight for long periods of time, such as GPS tracking in a car on a sunny day or listening to music while in direct sunlight.”
Overheating batteries can be very dangerous — they’ve been known to cause fires and even lead to injuries. If the problem persists, a vexing problem for Apple could be that since the iPhone battery is not removable, entire devices would need to be returned.
However, an analyst and Apple specialist with Technology Business Research, doesn’t expect the issue to escalate so far.

Latest News, Rumours iphone concepts

With the new black bezel that has been posted online, another iPhone concept has also arisen. this time from Pablo Nunez. I really like the design but no too sute about the Apple logo at the bottom. The black bezel only covers about 5/6ths of the phone and the earpiece is higher and wider just as depicted in the rumored bezel leak. Do you think this is whatthe new iPhone will look like?

Latest News, Rumours tv downloads, wireless

Apple may be on the verge of allowing movie and TV show downloads directly from an iPhone or iPod touch, according to a report by Kwame Jones.
This revelation, (again at least to me) comes by way of an advertisement in the new ad supported version of the app Twitterfon released on 5/15/09. Three ads, stumbled upon by a geeky friend of mine who wishes to remain anonymous for fear of the powerful arms of the Apple legal department, scrolling across the top of the app were for ‘iTunes Movies’, ‘iTunes TV’ and ‘iTunes Movie Rentals’.
Jones notes that while the titles of soon to be available movies and TV shows were listed, and directories by genre are active — the links to the actual movies turned up a message of “The item you’ve requested is not available.”
Upon even closer examination Jones noticed that pages in question are under construction as we speak. Notice, the navigation bar at the top of the page at 12:28 PM ET. That navigation bar wasn’t present at 10:55 AM ET and 12:07 ET.
It seems as though Apple may be developing the feature right at this moment.

Latest News, Rumours
According to Yair Reiner, an analyst at Oppenheimer, Apple may be looking to offer multiple models of iPhone differentiated by software instead of hardware. He claims to have met with several Apple executives who allegedly said: “[The] iPhone is still in its early days and could gain share by: providing more functionality, lowering prices, growing geographically, or segmenting the market with different models.”
Further more, the officials said that the segmentation would be offering different models of iPhone, and that: “Segmentation would focus on software.”
This rout would supposedly make better business sense than offering iPhones with different hardware in that they wouldn’t have the manufacturing cost increase of producing an iPhone with different parts.

Now you can control your iPhone by using the camera and face gestures. Its quite simple actually. For example, WINK once to go BACK and a BLINK will open another browser tab. You could even make calls just by a KISS gesture. Im telling you, this iPhone technology knows no limits. Okay okay i admit its not true, but I wouldnt put it pass Apple to incorporate such technology. Just imagine driving alone and the guy in the other car is either having a fit or controlling his iphone. What a laugh.

Latest News, Rumours iPhone OS 3.0

There has been speculations and well some say proof that the new iPhone and the new iPhone OS 3.0 will have some major improvements. According to a chinese forum, the specifications of the new iPhone will include a faster cpu from 400Mhz to 600Mhz. Other improvements will be an increase in RAM (upto 256MB from 128MB) and a 3.2 megapixel camera with auto focus. Of course, we are also expecting that there will be a increase in disk space to 32GB from 8GB and 16GB. Now I can live with that. It seems that there will not be any major change to the battery or the look.
A Russian iPhone fan-site reports that the camera used by the iPhone works better under the new 3.0 OS beta. They took a picture of a cat while moving their device, of course the image’s quality isn’t the best, but as you may guess, the picture looks better under 3.0 compared to 2.2.1.
So lets all wait and see what happens. I know I’m waiting to get the new iPhone 3G.
What will you do with your old iPhone? Let us know.

Latest News, Rumours iPhone OS 3.0, magnometer

According to a BoyGeniusReport, the iPhone OS version 3.0 beta 5 has a built in magnetometer. Screenshots of a compass suggests this technology will be implemented into the new OS.
“We just got a couple images from one of our Apple ninjas and it appears to show a compass option in one of the debugging menus. Our source says this is obviously for a built-in magnetometer in the upcoming iPhone hardware revision and with what’s already been reported, we’d have to agree.”
What is a MAGNOMETER?
“A magnetometer is a scientific instrument used to measure the strength and/or direction of the magnetic field in the vicinity of the instrument.” according to the WIKIPEDIA.
